I had few interviews through him before I landed my latest job as a Construction estimator.

I got a random message by a guy named James and I must say, It was very unprofessional. After contacting him, he told me he had a job for me and I asked for the company name. He then tells me that the company that is looking to hire wants to keep their name confidential but that it is a HIGHLY ACCLAIMED company in Canada. Only for me to find out later that the company he was talking about was actually HAY's. Yes, the company that he's working for. This is absolutely atrocious and so unprofessional. Why not just let the person you contacted know. And this company is not highly acclaimed. It absolutely sucks. Do not deal with these unprofessional thugs.

I was contacted with one of Hays recruiters to get hired by Hays itself telling me they are increasing their workforce for customer service because of extra workload. I accepted their offer although I had some other offers at that time as well. Everything went well but all of a sudden and after only 2 weeks of working there, one of its managers called me and one other customer service reps in their office telling us oh we do not need this role any more as the business is going down and as simple as that they made my life hard and I am currently jobless which causes me having a lot of financial stress and pressure.This is so disorganized and unprofessional to hire people only for two weeks when the contract is three month. It is so messed up not being able to figure out business needs more properly before making people lives miserable by just having them for two weeks when the contract is 3 months. Now my advise is not to trust this company if having a job is important in your life. But if you are working for fun and you really do not need money for your life, you can let these guys play with you.

Be aware Fake interviews - starts with phone call and make you believe it is a real job then call you to interview. My details were already in the resume and in the cover letter then i was later told that my level was not sufficient and the agent would find me new jobs but even after so many attempts to contact the agent, no response received, they will just ignore you. Recruitment companies post lots of fake job ads be careful.

The typical thing about recruitment agency is that the consultants are always in a dominant position in the employment relationship. You might spend 4 hours travel time and 10$ fare for them never calling back with anything, and maybe waste 30 more minutes to sign some paper work(well this one is electronic files, quite convinient) that literally says 'you can take whatever we give you, which is a noble and humanitarian act, or stay unemployed'. What exactly happened is you have just become a 'candidate' in their database. Just a sad fact that young immigrants relying on these sort of job don't even know how to make themselves heard and excercise their work rights. Literally we have expat labourers who's breaking their back slowly for 25$/hr till death, meanwhile some syd train staff who's getting 70+/hr on Sunday for playing their phones, yet still going on strikes to fight for more benefits.

To the all innocent job searchers, you should know that recruitment agency never works in the best interest of the candidates. They work for their clients which pay them commissions after successfully placing you or selling you. In their mind, it's only about commission. You are just 1 of their many PRODUCTS they present to their clients and they usually pick 5-6 products. It does not matter to them whether their clients select you or not as long as the clients pick any product they present to their clients because either way they earn commission. The ironic thing is that the recruitment agency likes to present themselves to the candidates as if they are assisting candidates for job search. However, they only have interest in you only if your work experience is matching with what their clients want. Once their client shows no interest in your resume, so does the recruitment agency. They will ignore your email, your phone calls as they think you are wasting their time of their life to achieve their commission target. During the recruitment process, you will notice they keep checking if you are waiting for other job interviews and possibly offers to make sure they don't waste time on you for nothing. If you choose to be honest with them telling them you are considering other roles/opportunities, they may remove you from their short list (even though it's normal for a job seeker to be open for all job opportunities). If you choose not to tell them and end up taking other role instead of their role, they will probably get angry (professionally) and blacklist you (behind your back). Therefore, fear of being blacklisted, no candidate is telling the ugly truth about the recruitment agency's nature of living on selling "human" as products and cold-blooded ignore candidates if they don't seem to add value to their bank accounts. Hudson (Sydney branch) is no different than others as I experienced a situation described above. But since nowadays many companies are now using recruitment agencies and you have no choice but to deal with them, make sure you put on your firm masks and stay strong during your job search.

Recruitment team in Perth were great to deal with, however their customer experience team and payroll team, was another experience. My first issue was around a 4 day payment being paid as a 2 day payment. A rather fundamental function for a payroll team to execute I would have thought. My next issue, was having half of my superannuation payment being paid in to a closed fund. Hudson were given 2 month's notice prior to this mistake being made. I also followed up a month out from my super being paid to confirm this was updated. I have now found out this wasn't updated, leaving my super out of pocket at their expense. I was also told from the girl's in the customer experience team, that an email had been sent confirming the status of this, which simply hadn't been sent. On both occasions I've been left to deal with incompetent staff, who do not prioritise getting back to you, and when they do it generally carries an excuse. Lies / inconsistent payroll disbursement / extremely rude service - not qualities I look for in a payroll service.

Anyone thinking Hudson will help them find their next career opportunity needs to heed Obi Wan’s next piece of advice, “We must be cautious!” Employment recruiters are, in the words of the Duke of Wellington, “the scum of the earth!” Hudson is a bucket shop of the worst variety; it’s operatives, largely on 457 visas or worse, are parasites, modern-day slavers who traffic in human commodities. These parasites offer a future they cannot provide and are as dishonest as real estate agents, ambulance chasing solicitors and used car salespeople. It’s best to avoid Hudson and the other large slavers in the market. Go to the source and cut out the parasites.

Super unresponsive. Interview to double check your skills and experience was literally a 5 minute conversation where the recruiter was not super interested in what you had to say. They book back to back interviews so they try to get you out the door as soon as possible. Promised followups don't actually happen. I have no idea why companies would want to work with a recruiting agency that does not actually look into the candidate's background further and make sure they have the required skills for the position.

Once you are registered and met one of their incompetent recruiter you never hear of any jobs or roles. AVOID at all costs. Very simple process. Did an online interview and without even seeing me they hired me based on motivation and qualifications. I've never seen this before! Everywhere I go, it's always about looks. Darren added me on Linkedin and we arranged a call for the following day (Friday). Darren did not call me at the arranged time, in fact he didn't call at all, I messaged him on lLinkedin asking if he could email me and received no response but was able to see that he had seen the message, on Monday I gave him a call which was left unanswered so I messaged him again on Linkedin to ask why he was not responding to anything, again he had seen the message and not responded. It was not until I told Darren that I would be writing this review that he responded straight away and provided me with a bunch of excuses that I do not believe.

If you have another offer on the table then go with that, these people don't know what they're doing. I applied for a financial services job, they gave me an interview and forwarded me to the company, they told me the company liked my resume and wanted to meet me, then after that I heard nothing, not even an apology, I emailed them a few times and by the end of it I was told to apply for other positions. Don't lie to people and get their hopes up, life is enough of a struggle without having to deal with the stress of false hope.

Possibly one of the worst agencies I have ever dealt with, was called in for an interview for a finance based role. It was a group interview which is quiet odd for an agency to conduct. The entire thing was very unprofessional with the recruiters daughter playing games in the corner. Terrible agency who never gets back to you.

The recruiters in Sydney CBD lack time management and organisational skills, as well as professionalism. Assessment centres run way behind time leaving individual interviews rushed and incomplete. Additionally, they have no idea how many people they are supposed to be recruiting (which is a complete joke) and communication between staff is lacking. If you are seeking assistance from a recruitment agency, I urge you to avoid this subpar and chaotic organisation and find one that is interested in helping you.

The studio was strongly recommended from friends of us for the good skills and professionalism of the agent Fred Molloy, unfortunatly He is availables only certain days so we decided to have hour consultation with another agent of the studio. Following a consultation of an hour and received via E-mail some documents requested as result of the consultation, one specific thing was still not clear, so I made a phone call to clarify this specific information, at this stage the agent followed us was not able to answer to the question and instead to give me a solution as simple as "I do not know" or "I'll let you know", was just mumbling on the phone other informations (not requested and not necessary) without get to the point;also in the main time was answering other peoples in the office announcing to her another incoming phone call. Result: I had to call the Australian Immigration Office to the have the answer to this specific question. Service payed but not delivered fully.

Have dealt with my fair share of recruitment agency's and HLR is by far the most professional in all aspects! One of the standout features of this company is that they actually call you back! YES they call you either way and keep you informed of how things are traveling. One of the consultants I dealt with personally actually was on call as early as 7 30AM & even on Weekends! No other agency have I ever had that level of service. I can't mention names but other companies out there should take a page out of HLR's handbook of customer service. Never a pleasure looking for employment especially as a Chef but HLR definitely makes the experience a lot easier. Well done team.
