Coming from the UK, it’s been a real struggle to find good, comparable Indian food here in Sydney. However, I have to say the food here is fantastic, top marks to the chef. I’ve eaten here twice and really enjoyed both times equally as have those I’ve eaten with. The Naan breads are the best I’ve had. HOWEVER, I’ve noticed one or two other reviews mentioning about the pressure from waiting staff to order food, finish food and leave etc. Both times I felt eyes watching the table for the whole meal and questioned for my next course, my order and even eyes rolled when I asked for 2 more minutes before placing my order. It’s a bit of a shame as other than this, I would literally be exclusive to this place for my Indian food but it just lets it down. I will certainly eat give it another chance but if it doesn’t improve I’ll probably move on.

One of the best Indian restaurants I've visited in recent times. Got a private room for a guest count of 13. Service was excellent. Food quality and taste was extremely good. The ambience too was very soothing. Kudos to the team running it. You guys are doing a fantastic job. Keep up. Will visit soon. Highly recommended.

Service was good, the food was lacking. However I may be biased as I’m used to homemade and the Indian food in Canada. I ordered the butter chicken and found it to be lacking flavour, it was rather sweet and missing heavier flavours of the spices. I chose to eat the dish without rice to not wash out the little flavour it did have. Overall food was mediocre, service was good. I asked the servers about the missing flavour and they say that they make everything very mild. Might be a Australian thing? 🤷‍♂️

We had the guys from Nawaz cater for my 60th birthday. Food was brilliant as always, the guys brought all the serving gear, arrived on time and set it all up for us to help ourselves. Very generous amount of food. Guests impressed. No fuss and no work for us.

A nice restaurant close to circular Quay. Not very big so be ready for waiting.table booking is definitely recommend. On weekends too busy. Take away order also takes half an hour. I took vegetable biryani and it was tasty. Will visit in future and try some dishes to know overall good experience. It's somewhat expensive.

Great Ambience and great location. Next to Circular quay station. Amazing drinks collections and great food choices. Suitable for Indian Vegetarian and Non vegetarian food lovers. Friendly staff and book your seat in advance to get a place. Otherwise you will be asked to wait for one or two hours

Wow! Ambience is perfect. Decor is well done. Service is attentive and genuine. Food is full of flavor and hits the spot. I would recommend and come back next time I’m in town. My only note is that most of the curries are prepped at a Pre made spice level, and I did not try and that were adequately spicy for me (like it HOT!). So you will want to add your own on the side, which they can bring out for you.

After hearing great reviews, my partner and I booked our anniversary here and was not disappointed. We got the banquet for two and what a feast!! The meals were delicious, the paneer & rogan josh 10/10, and we fell in love with new dishes/flavours we hadn't tried before. It's not a 'cheap' venue but not at all unreasonable, the food quality surpasses the price tag. We will definitely be back.

I had a nice dinner here on a work trip. Dropped by around 7pm and even though the place was full, the staff managed to sit the 3 of us quickly. Food was amazing, had curries with naan and rice. Will certainly return when I get the cravings for Indian food.

The ambience is superb, staff is polite and accommodating. They provide vegetarian substitutes for vegetarians if going for buffet. Food is prepared and served in a very creative manner. Taste I can say is sometimes too good for some food items and sometimes average. Food products quality is good. Only con is that it is expensive fine dining and for that kind of cost I would expect a little more satisfying taste and options.

Had an amazing meal here, the food was unreal and so was the service! Had a waterfront table so the views were great. If I could recommend anything I would say try the butter chicken as personally it's the best I've ever tried. Not sure how this place only has 3.9 stars, but reading other reviews it seems like people are picking at little things. I'll definitely be coming back

If I could give this restaurant six stars, I would. The food is incredible, unique dishes all with complimentary sides. Service is expeditious with all dishes served aesthetically. The view and atmosphere tops it all off. Incredible venue with a fantastic personal touch. Will be visiting again soon.

Being a curry lover this is probably some of the best tasting dishes we have enjoyed in quite a while. As to the portions they have either addressed this issue or perhaps previous reviews were a bit harsh. Our portions were excellent to the point of having take aways on all 4 main dishes ordered. Dining on a Sunday afternoon with family and its absolutely a fantastic venue. Stayed almost 3 hours with fantastic view seeing million dollars yatch cruising up and down the harbour. Foods was superb and delicious. Staffs was very attentive.

Amazing and delicious food! All the dishes were prepared fresh and were served hot! Staff were super friendly and helpful with ordering. The ambience was absolutely magnificent as the restaurant is located on Sydney’s Darling Harbour. The only thing was that the prices are very expensive and the food serving is a lot less compared to the big price. Otherwise a great experience altogether!

Normally I prefer that restaurants focus on one specific cuisine, but in this case the mix of both northern Indian and Nepalese dishes works quite well. I have eaten here twice and all of the dishes I have tried have had tremendous flavors- some have some spicy heat, some don't. The menu has quite a few choices including starters and dessert. They offer two kinds of Nepalese beer, at least one from India, and a few common Australian beers. The staff are very friendly and efficient.

I enjoyed the goat Curry set which came with an addictive range of pickles and sides. I though I wasn't that hungry going into dinner but the food was so well prepared that I couldn't stop myself from hoovering down the meal. The Nepal Ice beer was worth trying and has a different flavour to many Australian beers.

Dinner with party of 5- three hungry males and two petite females. Food was great and didn’t have to wait long. Nice atmosphere and the restaurant is pretty much hidden due to a small narrow entrance, however the restaurant space opens up once your closer to the bar and kitchen. Wonderful experience all round. Great service & really tasty food. I stumbled upon this little gem the other night while looking for a quick bite before a show. The staff were so accomodating & rushed our orders through. Only ordered a couple of dishes since we were in a hurry, but once they arrived & we tasted, it only left us wanting more! Great food, a very comfortable atmosphere and cool funky decor Masala Theory's menu can seem overwhelming but the waitstaff are all very friendly and can guide you through it as well as put together an amazing banquet for you with the briefest of questions. Would recommend the curry bombs - they are well named cause they are the bomb and if you're lucky and feeling like something slightly different: order an Old Monk and Thums Up - trust me, it goes great with anything and tastes brilliant!

What an amazing restaurant! My husband and I had the most excellent Indian food I have had in a while and the service was just as amazing. We ordered a ton of different things to try and they were all delicious plus some awesome cocktails! The price of the food was very comparable to other Indian restaurants so we were astonished by how incredible it was. I can't wait to go back and try everything else!

Wanted to rate 0 star. If I had to give one star then it was for food which was tasty. However the hospitality and wait time for food was pathetic. We were at table at 8:40 We had to wait 1 hour to get our starter. We order our mains by 9:15. We were made to wait until 10:30 with no updates on our food. This is where we lost our patience and left empty stomach. There was a very poor communication, hospitality, customer service. Everything was messy and I don't understand how they are running this restaurant. I won't recommend this restaurant especially for very poor service.

Disappointing. Take note of all the recent reviews for this restaurant. Arrival We pre booked a table for 7pm and were seated at one of the 6 tables that are inside the restaurant. All the other seating is outside on the pavement. The door to the restaurant was propped open to make for easy serving to outdoor customers, this meant it was very cold indoors and we kept our coats on until leaving. Seating here is a little uncomfortable as it is stools only inside. Service We found the service was lacking and inattentive, the lady that took our order struggled to understand our questions about the food. She had a pen and paper to wrote down the order yet still missed our garlic naan from the order. We asked her to check if we could have chicken breast in our curry and she said she would ask and let us know. This did not happen. Food Service here was slow, we noticed others around us asking where their food was and how long it would be. It took half an hour for us to receive our 4 poppadoms and 2 dips (there is no dip selection here you have to order them all separately at $3 each, well that's what we were told). Poppadoms - tasted like they were the shop bought microwave ones and very very greasy/oily. Tawa Paneer Tikka - Did not enjoy this dish, compared to all other paneer dishes I've had this was definitely one of the worst tasting I've had. Did not taste fresh and was far from the description of 'delicately fried morsels marinated in spices' more like deep fried, tough exterior! All served with half a teaspoon of watery mint sauce. Chicken Chennai (chicken Madras) this was the better dish of order, quite tasty with a little spiceyness. But this dish was served warm rather than hot. We asked where our naan bread was and were told it was missed off the order, this was brought to us when we only had a mouthful of curry left. Overall a pretty poor experience here and wouldn't return or recommend. If you want a great curry on Glebe Point Road highly recommend Nawaz or Bhoomi a little further up the hill. Weve eaten at both many times and they offer much better food and overall better experience.

If I wanted to ruin Valentine's day for my wife, I would have written her a poem. This place was a disaster! We booked our table in advance, arrived 10 mins before the booking time like good citizens, did everything right but for what? Slow service and terrible food. My wife was born and raised in Bombay. She thinks the only truthful thing about this place is a part of its name - 'kitchen' because she's sure this place has a kitchen at least. There was nothing 'Bombay' or 'Street' about it. We had to follow up twice with the staff to get two tiny chicken skewers and a single Pav with Bhaji (it was sweet, by the way). Never visiting again.

Could there be any better Indian dining .. specially around Parramatta.. nopes !! Have been going to this place for so many years now and what surprises me the most is the “consistency “ in service, food and quality of staff. Am sure every one will agree that the experience of eating out depends a lot on the person who serves you. Even though you see a lot of new staff, but always Love the staff here. If you are looking for an Indian restaurant with a romantic atmosphere or where you can share a few drinks and a chat with friends, this place isn't it. But if you want a bustling, noisy and fun place with absolutely fabulous and delicious food then this is the place to be. The staff are friendly and service is excellent, you can see them cooking in the galley kitchen so you know everything is hot and fresh. You must try the mango lassie it's yummy. It is beyond awesome! It is our all time favourite restaurant in Sydney. Most evenings, there is a 10-20min wait for a table. While you wait, you get a menu and an order slip. Select what you want to order. When you are seated, the waiter reviews your order to verify everything; and within a few minutes, the ordered meal(s) start arriving. It's delicious! At first, we ordered different things on the menu. There was never a bad choice. We always left completely satisfied. It's 100% vegetarian and even our non-vegetarian friends love it. The prices are good, the menu has about a 100 options. We have eaten about half of those options and they are all yumm!! You can't go wrong here. SO GOOD!

They are extremely generous with the meat and seafood portions in the curries, which taste healthy and low in oil and butter. They offer some amazing value deals on their website! The ambience and decor are a little bit average, otherwise it would be a 5 star review. Highly recommended, especially for homesick Brits!

Another great meal from these guys. They have been consistently great over the years. Keep up the good work guys. Pro tip: Get a direct delivery from them to save money, as it’s cheaper compared to ordering from Ubereats or deliveroo.

Oh how I love coming here! The food is nothing like other restaurants out here having a full authentic flavour! Service is quick the price is way too reasonable. My favourite dish is definitely the butter chicken hands down!

Used to really enjoy coming to Ajmers, it was my favourite resturant for a long time. Customer service has really slipped, we are the only people ever in there and even then, they couldn't crack a smile. I honestly only keep going because the butter chicken is heaven..

Ajmer’s is the best Indian Restaurant on the Northern Beaches. The food here is always so fresh, flavoursome and well balanced, dine in or takeaway. Amazing onion bhaji entree and bread selection, delicious meat curries and their vegetarian curries are the best I’ve had. Great Service too, thanks guys!

When you spend $30 on takeout (1 chicken dish) to my mind rice should be standard? Lovely tasting food I must add but little pricey for what it is.

Favorite North Indian food in Sydney cheap and good. Very tasty. Servings are large I order small because just right for me not too much or not too little. Their Lassi is very good too. It's fast food so don't expect the world.... I'm guessing it's the same cook because the food taste the same after 10 years of being away from Sydney.

A very affordable lunch/dinner option with 3 different meat curries and rice for only $10. Medium serving is massive so keep in mind when ordering. Food’s tasty and service’s very quick. Highly recommend.

I was studying abroad in Sydney in 2015 and lived just across Oxford St in a small flat. One of the best memories I have from my experience in Sydney is walking across the street to pick up delicious food from you guys--beef vindaloo, palak paneer, and other wonderful dishes. In particular...I started to love the fried potato Aloo Tikki, and my belly showed it 😛. I'd give 6 stars if I could. I hope you are all doing well. Please stay safe during the pandemic. This Indian food outlet provides a wide range of authentic Indian dishes. The medium sized plate with three curry choices is best value to experience different tastes. Lamb korma is always excellent. The ladies at the front are courteously and serve meals with great efficiency.

AMAZING food! I totally enjoyed the food! Went for a three course meal plus a drink. It fills you up quite good! Ordered chicken Korma which was very tasty. overall, it was a great experience! The service was pretty good too.

The food was good. Not mind blowing but nothing to complain about. But the joy was entirely taken away with unreasonable charges for simple side items that are usually given for free in other indian restaurants .. We ordered Biriyani which in any other indian restaurant comes with some small portion of raita or gravy......but this place didn't and so we asked if they had some.....we asked for some chilli onion..yogurt and pickles...and was charged 5$ for onion and chilli, 3.5$ for a tiny bit of yoghurt (not even a full fledged raita...It is pictured next to the receipt to show how small it really was) and 3.5$ for pickles ...Not seen this ANYWHERE in Sydney. Especially when the gravy items are not cheap either. May be your fancy place.. but not coming back unfortunately :/ The service was good and so its 2 stars.

Here you can eat one of the most delicious Indian food in town. The Baingan Dam Dar (with eggplant) is absolutely a must to try. We also enjoined a very good vegetable korma

This was our first time at Phulkari Indiana Cuisine. Our waiter Ruby was awesome. She explained all dishes to us and her suggestions were delicious. She was very attentive even tho the restaurant was packed. The owner stopped by to check on us periodically to ensure we enjoy our visit. The food is very tasty, the drinks were delicious and the desserts were the cherry on top. Thank you Ruby for an awesome dining experience.

Had a nice dinner with colleagues from work. The food was delicious and the presentation for each dish was very modern. The restaurant is big, can accommodate large groups, and has good ambience. The service staff is very nice and try to ensure you have a good experience. The owner/manager is nice to check and ensure everything is good.

Amazing Indian food. It was one of the best dining experiences in my life. I feel so fortunate that we were able to get in without a reservation. Phulkari Indiana Cuisine restaurant at Sydney Rd, Balgowlah gave me full satisfaction when I got complete vegetarian dishes there. Parking is also available. The dishes prepared were having truly authentic Indian taste, flavor and ingredients. Seating was comfortable. The service was good. Overall a nice experience.
