Jane Prosser charged my husband $440 to diagnose him with migraines. A GP could have done that. No scans or MRI, completely brushed off my husband's symptoms. Her "solution" was lifelong medication. A simple band-aid for the SYMPTOMS... no ideas or advice re: the CAUSE of these migraines. No helpful advice at ALL re: triggers and management. Such a spectacular waste of money.

I visited Jane Prosser twice and both times I was incredibly disappointed. I felt she did not completely understand what I was going through and brushed off my symptoms. I was sent there by my GP as she is known to be one of the best migraine doctors but it seems anything that slightly differs from the norm, she doesn't know what to do. She was unsure about my diagnosis as I presented with other symptoms and only after being persistent - she then somewhat believed what I was experiencing MAY be causing my migraines. I had also spoken up about numbness in the back and severe lower back pain which she disregarded as irrelevant. I'm not sure how a neurologist could disregard back pain as it may be a symptom of the migraines I was experiencing. Despite asking for a lumbar spine MRI, she declined and said it was not necessary. My GP later wrote me a referral to which now I just decided to get my scans done as I had to pay $250+ out of pocket. It was noted I had a cyst on my S2 and was the reason why I was experiencing so much pain. I don't understand where her duty of care is. I definitely don't recommend Jane Prosser as I found she brushed off my symptoms and didn't seem to actually listen to my complaints.

Was a bit concerned by some of the Google reviews, which shows why you shouldn't always trust other people's experiences. I have been to 3 appointments and also had a few tests at this place. The staff at the reception desk have always been respectful and helpful. The doctor I see gives me more time and attention than most specialists and clearly knows his stuff. At RPA hospital where I now get my infusion treatments together with a few other people with my neurology problem, I have heard similar stories. Sometimes there's a bit of a wait, but to be fair at the last appointment they had to get the guy before me over to the hospital with an emergency which took a while.

As everyone would know from my previous reviews it has to either be something absolutely remarkable or absolutely horrible to warrant such effort of a review from myself. I have a bittersweet experience which I will share with you all. After being somewhat of a lab rat in another unspecified hospital and becoming progressively worse very quickly I ended up at the RPA. I was told that I was unfortunately suffering from an aggressive form of a neurological disease. While there were many doctors involved in my care I must acknowledge some to which I owe my life to and will always be thankful, and such doctors which I can truly commend for an extensive range of knowledge, intelligent and efficient decisions, and a genuine desire to help people. These remarkable people include Dr Judy Spies, Professor Michael Barnett, Emeritus Professor John Pollard, Dr Joshua Barton, Dr Kieren Po & Anne Maree O’Connell. The most advanced and effective institution for neurology within the country and quite possibly in the world given the vast experience and knowledge they all share and their utmost diligence in making educated decisions quickly and safely to minimise any further complications. Furthermore, appreciation must be given to the ladies at reception to whom I see often, an absolute ray of sunshine each and every time, individuals who share the same enthusiasm and talent to be of great service and most importantly there is an evident cohesion between the doctors, the reception and all others of a team who work extensively well together and make it happen seamlessly. To all of you, I have said it many times, you saved my life from a devastating pathway, I will never forget people who display such acts of humanity, you are most truly remarkable and absolutely astounding, there is nothing you can’t and won’t do for people xx

Dr Judith Spies is arrogant,dismissive and non receptive.This centre is probably fine if you have a simple clear cut situation or just needs Botox etc but if not, there are heaps of other better places and Neurologists. If you go to Sydney Neurology you risk wasting your time as the doctors are very old fashioned and are not open minded or believing there is anything new that they need to learn or that they can be wrong ever.I had tests done by Dr Spies that were interpreted by her as being normal but then other doctors have told me they actually were abnormal results and my condition worsened. No doctor is expected to be perfect of course,and if it was simply a case of a doctor making an error and then being willing to correct it when shown more current information then it would be fine,but in this case the faulty reporting was due to her personal bias and arrogance and this is where it becomes unacceptable and negligence.She also breaches patient confidentiality.Generally don’t bother showing the doctors here any medical articles about new findings or treatments (even if legitimate med journal articles etc) as they won’t read it and will get offended.Apparently they are above any new knowledge and look down on what they see as “Dr Google”. Again,if this attitude was just due to concerns over accuracy of internet info etc this would be understandable but this isn’t the case with the doctors here-the “close mindedness” is purely due to old fashioned personalities + arrogance which is little surprise considering that they literally have big paintings of themselves (done by artists) in the waiting area lol.I guess when you are surrounded by staff who overadmire you and you see a painting of your own face every time you go into work you probably would start believing your own hype...... The one Neurologist that is the exception,ok and down to earth at Sydney Neurology is Associate Professor Stephen Reddel.

Both myself and my sister attend this practice - seen by 2 different neurologists. Both (Dr Reddel and Dr Garber) are excellent. Contrary to other reviews here, the staff have gone out of their way to help us with appointments and bookings for various tests.

I wouldn't recommend Sydney Neurology (or comment but its worth warning others) the professionalism & quality of treatment is notably bad compared to all other practices Ive visited both locally & abroad on every front, Im quite experienced. Been here 3 times. Prof Pollard would be turning in his grave. Theyll lose your test results, not chase them up & insist they never happened, (& refuse to look at the receipts in your hand) they'll make admin & resulting medical treatment mistakes serious enough to lead to prescribing convulsant drugs to epileptics. Yes really. On trying to clear up what are clearly obvious errors on their part, youll then have to deal with fairly arrogant & aloof doctors such as Stephen Reddell who offers very little in good advice & listens even less. Prof Pollard would be turning in his grave. To be fair I did eventually get my seizure medication script, but dont bother, if you can Id recommend Randwick hosp/NSW uni instead, infinitely superior.

Dr James Lee, whom I saw with my son at the RNSH (not the Naremburn clinic) is the most arrogant and dismissive person in the medical field I have ever encountered. He picked up the referral letter, arrogantly proclaimed that he had ALREADY rejected it before my son and I even walked in, and threw it across his desk asking what we came here for?! He said the referral had "nothing in it" (it asked for his opinion on the diagnosis and management of condition X). He didn't even let us get a word in or show him the whole folder of medical evidence we had brought with us. So, we just stood up and walked out. I will ensure he NEVER treats another human being this way by lodging formal complaints at the highest levels and instigating new investigations against him for his abhorrent behaviour. There is NO place for people of his ilk in the medical profession. NB. He has already been investigated for patient bulling in the past by RACS. How unsurprising!

Having had migraines my whole life, it was advised I see a neurologist. After some hesitation and countless migraines I decided enough was enough! I booked in a consultation (organised on the day, thank you for making time to see me) and was pleased with the outcome. My history was taken and I was informed on a range of solutions. Dr Smail was very sympathetic to my concerns (of taking daily medication) so he provided me with alternatives to try. Staff from reception to specialist were pleasant to deal with, I would recommend this clinic to anyone who needs it.

LIFESAVERS! From the moment I contacted the wonderful and efficient Yee on reception I knew I had found the right people to help find the cause of my partner Tony’s 3 month headaches. Dr Karl and his team kept investigating different avenues until they made a diagnosis! We came for 1 day, from far away and not being familiar with Sydney we ended up staying 16 days!! If it wasn’t for SNNN working together with the Neurosurgeons and the truly amazing Drs & nurses at ward 6F ICU Neuro Ward at Royal North Shore Public Hospital Tony would have been DEAD!! Seriously, yes, Dr Karl IS a busy man!! Because he’s BLOODY GOOD AT WHAT HE DOES!! We are so blessed and truly lucky to have such amazingly SMART people, who really did LISTEN and appreciate the role of the Carer who is struggling to FIND ANSWERS to fix their loved ones pain!! Tony hardly remembers anything of his time in Sydney of course and we are at our follow up visit, having flown in from Cairns to see Dr Karl, returning the same day! Took a while for doctors to get back to me on results of MRI. I contacted them 4 times. Lead doctor is good but too busy and not so empathetic to patients. Should try and smile every now and then. Otherwise the experience was satisfoctsat enough.

Have been a good service till the last appoitment which has been cancelled without notifying the patient. Have driven 2 hours to the medical center to find out that Dr.Skulina has been away on that day. Due to the move to another state, needed the doctor's refferal which was promised at the reception to be sent via email. More than a month has passed, the medical center keeps silent and ignoring my emails. Well done! They haven't even tried to rectify mistake they have made.

I'm a little puzzled by eoramieh's review as he/she does not say if the botox injections helped her migraines. I agree with the first reviewer. I find Dr Wardman very thorough & incredibly nice (especially for a medical specialist!). I originally went to him about some numbness after a tooth extraction. After testing me in his room, he referred me for an MRI, brain scan & other tests but predicted it was probably stress: "I see it all the time". My tests were all normal & he was right. Recently I went to him about my increasing problems with balance. He tested me thoroughly, agreed I was wobbly & felt there might be some impairment in my feet and/or inner ears. He has referred me for further tests at POW and nerve conduction tests back with him. Unfortunately all medical specialists are very expensive (unless you go to the public clinic) but I have known others whose fees are higher.

Terrible Neurologist. Saw him for the first time 1 year ago after having extreme headaches and migraines everyday for 3 months as well as other pain near my ear and eyes. He went on to say that my MRI shows nothing therefore its stress. Explained to him I have no stress whatsoever as I am the happiest I have ever been besides the headaches/migraines. He said to come back and see me later on. Didnt go back to him, saw several different GP's who did an elimination process i.e. cat scan of face to check sinus and blood tests.. tried different medications that treat nerve damage such as endep, lyrica etc.. my GP then referred me to do a cortisone injection behind my occipital nerve.. all of these medications did not work. I was advised my final resort would be to do botox injections which need to be injected by a neurologist under medicare.. after 1.5 years of pain every single day i decided to try this. I booked another appointment with dr wardman hoping I would get the botox. I didnt want to see another neurologist and pay a i initial consult fee as I had already done this with dr wardman. After seeing Dr Wardman I was advised that im not eligible for the botox only because I hadnt tried the medications under his supervision. Medicare clearly states that I am eligible as long as I have migraines more than 15 times a month and have tried 3 different medications which I had.. Dr Wardman didnt give me the injections because he wanted me to try 3 more medications only so that I would keep coming back paying further conult fees. I have now seen another Neurologist who gave me the botox injections on my first visit as he stated I was definitelt eligible. Dr Wardman is a joke, doesnt care about you only money. Do not bother seeing this man.

Highly skilled and a nice guy as well. He diagnosed a problem that had beaten other doctors for years, he suggested an operation and I am now totally cured and finally able to walk pain free. After years of trying, he was the only doctor to correctly diagnose my problem and he did it carefully and patiently, not rushing. He was happy to answer questions and treated my wife is and myself as people and not just patients. Happy to recommend him.

The receptionist Anne is the most unhelpful, rude and abrupt old woman that i have had the misfortune of dealing with in a long time. She made a stressful situation harder to deal with due to the "power trip" that she was running on. I unfortunately spoke with her 4 times on the phone and every time she was infuriatingly obnoxious with her "look down her nose at you tone". I eventually went and got another referral as she was just too hard to deal with and was completely put off by her. I hope you have better luck then I did but worst service ever, so bad I wrote my first ever review about it..

I can't explain how rude and unprofessional Anne the receptionist is. Not only did she make appointments for my lumbar puncture test without so much as just sending my referal in the mail, she didn't bother explaining associated costs and what I needed to do post procedure. I chased that down myself. I ended up in hospital after the procedure but instead of being sympathetic she was twice as obnoxious as usually telling me to chase down my hospital discharge papers and trying to make me feel stupid that "the results of lumbar puncture won't be back. It's unheard of" which was a lie because she knew the results were back. My illness is not sorted and I definitely won't be dealing with that rude, unprofessional, unorganised dragon again. Do yourself a favour go find someone else to see because you'll leave with a bigger headache than you went with. I hope Anne gets the same treatment when she gets sick!

I was told to arrive early and waited 50 minutes for my appointment, then after a $390 consultation was basically told exactly what my GP has told me. No additional examination offered or specialist knowledge. I found Dr Ng’s manner rather dismissive and uninterested, and have walked away upset and highly unsatisfied.

My issues with this doctor are, firstly he appears to be quite impatient and eager to finish the conversation despite we need more explanation on the usage of the medicine; secondly when we told him that the medicine given have side effects he did not give any more suggestions than what GP has suggested already and claimed that was his plan B. However this plan B wasn’t communicated before After that he repeatedly asked me to go back to GP. I am quite disappointed with that service.

I visited this practice in 2015 due to my ENT finding white spots on my brain. I was referred to Dr Raymond Schwartz to which he did say the white spots were harmless and were likely an indication of headache activity. I do however think he spent more time talking about his supplement with Blackmores more than talking about me. I actually went to purchase the supplement he mentioned but it was no longer being sold in store or online. I feel like this is something he should have double checked before recommending me a product. The overall appointment I did feel quite rushed and felt I wasn't taken too seriously but I guess that was because he found my diagnosis to not be medically significant in any way.

I saw dr Borire at wentworthville medical centre and i thought he was the most respectful and genuinely caring doctor i have ever seen. i would highly recomend him to anyone who needs to see a neurologist.
